The Beatles: 10 Best Solo Songs

1. Imagine – John Lennon

Could there be another option for top spot?

As iconic as any of The Beatles’ stuff, Lennon’s Imagine is his best ever selling single and generally considered one of the best songs ever written.

The song once again is a call for peace from Lennon, with the incredible lyrics asking listeners to envisage what the world would be like without religion, borders, class, or division. Inspiringly beautiful, if you were to get your average Joe to name their favourite solo Beatles song, this would always be the top choice. As with much of Lennon’s work, there were still some criticisms, but they can be roundly ignored, because whatever your opinion on the man himself and the messages he sends out, Imagine is one of the best songs of the 20th century.

Who needs the other three, eh John?
