Pokémon GO: 6 Facts From Gen 2 You Probably Missed

One of the most anticipated events/contents to come for the killer mobile app, Pokémon GO is the Gen 2 update. There are a myriad of possibilities and features that will come alongside this update as it entails a broader Pokédex, Evolution Stones (formerly known as Element Stones) and more. But aside from these, there are other facts way back in Gen 2 that one may have missed. Whether these facts will affect the future of the game is still unknown. But nonetheless, it’s cool to look back and take a retrospect of what the second generation of the Pokémon series has to offer to its fans. Here’s the 12 Facts From Gen 12 That You Probably Missed:

Fact 1: Way back in Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal, there exists one slot machine in each Game Corner which has slightly better odds than the other slot machines. But these slot machines were blocked by NPCs during Day and Night times.

Fact 2: In Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal, if the Pokémon faints to poison in the overworld or in a battle against an opponent that is 30 levels above it or more, its happiness will drop five times more than it should have had if it fainted from any other way.

Fact 3: In Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow, the maximum catch rate is capped when the enemy Pokémon reached 33% of its max HP. Furthermore, if Great Ball is used, there is no difference on the catch rate once the Pokémon’s HP goes below 50% of its max HP.

Fact 4: Pokémon Crystal, leveling up the Pokémon in the map where it was caught will increase its happiness gain twice as much as from regular battles.

Fact 5: In Pokémon Red Blue and Yellow, the Pokémon that knows (learn) one or more HM moves cannot be stored in the daycare.

Fact 6: Ironically, in Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal, Love Ball increases the catch rate of Pokémon once it has the same gender as the opposing Pokémon, rather than the opposite.

There are other facts from Gen 2 that wasn’t mentioned on this list. For those that are familiar with Gen 2 series, they’re likely to add several facts/trivia more from Gen 2. Check them out in the comments down below.
