Raikou, Entei, and Suicune have begun their world tour, and Trainers prepare for EX Raid Battles.
Get ready to track down some exciting new Pokémon in Pokémon GO! Raikou, the Electric-type Legendary Pokémon, Entei, the Fire-type Legendary Pokémon, and Suicune, the Water-type Legendary Pokémon, have finally made it to the game. Now, Trainers around the world will have the opportunity to battle and catch all three of these Legendary Pokémon originally from the Johto region. Like Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia before them, the trio can be battled in Gym Raid Battles.
Starting on August 31, 2017, Raikou, Entei, and Suicune made their first appearances in various regions around the globe. Raikou will appear in the Americas, Entei in Europe and Africa, and Suicune will show up in the Asia-Pacific region. The trio will spend about four weeks in each region before traveling onward to the next area. Look for a new member of the trio in each region on September 30, 2017, and October 31, 2017. Remember that these Legendary Pokémon will only be available for a limited time, though. Come November 30, 2017, they will flee, so make sure to get out there and get battling!
EX Raid Battles
In addition to the debut of Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, Pokémon GO will also be field-testing new EX Raid Battles (previously known as Exclusive Raid Battles). These updated contests will periodically appear at Gyms around the world. Trainers who have successfully completed a Raid Battle at a Gym that is hosting an EX Raid Battle will receive a special invitation to face off against a powerful Raid Boss. Starting soon, Trainers in select areas will begin receiving an EX Raid Pass for the opportunity to experience this new feature and provide feedback to fine-tune this new system.
